Vindication Swim Movie Set

Inflatable Boat Fishing was invited by one of the UK’s youngest film directors, Elliot Hasler to help film scenes from his latest movie Vindication Swim

Myself and Susie were at Newhaven ready to launch the Hydrus for a trip to Seven Sisters when Elliot’s father Simon spotted us setting up.

Simon plays a big part helping Elliot film the true story of swimmer Mercedes Gleitze, the first woman to swim the Channel in 1927.

After a lengthy chat exchanging details of both the film and the IBF business we were asked to help out as a safety boat while actress Kirsten Callaghan and actor John Locke filmed scenes on the water for Elliot’s latest blockbuster.

Spending the day with the cast and film crew was certainly something different for IBF and was an absolute pleasure to be part of.

Let’s see if we make the credits when the film comes out next year.

Update: We certainly did make the end credits.

The inspirational story of Mercedes Gleitze, the first British woman to swim the English Channel and her battle against both the cold waters of the Channel and the oppressive society of 1920s England.
